travel: palo alto

To start off my vacation, I went to visit my brother in Palo Alto, California. We only had three days together, but we made the most of it. I cherish any time I get to spend with him, especially now that we are on different coasts. Stefan and I get along so well - he really is my best friend.

The first day we were there, one of his friends took us around in a Tesla which he borrowed from work. It was really awesome. Because he worked there, we got to see how the back end of the computer worked inside of the car.The next day we went to Napa Valley and Mondavi Winery. We took a full tour and honestly I learned a lot. I have done plenty of tastings and tours before, but they went a little more in depth. The vines on this building helped keep it cool but they had to time them all the time. And here is a picture of me standing near all the tanks of wine!So many!My parents had just visited and saw all the barrels filling this room. We saw it all cleared out though!I love this bear sculpture so much. There were a lot of interesting ones around the winery, but the bear was so classic in honor of California and all.We walked over to see the French Laundry and take our Christmas card picture!I am determined to eat here one day!Instead I had my first In-N-Out Burger experience. I would like to think it is as equally as delicious. The last day I was there we stayed close to Stefan's house. We went on a hike called the Dish near Stanford's campus. It was DRY and hot. Then Stefan took me on a campus tour and site seeing around the area.We did all you can eat sushi for our last meal together. I'm gonna miss that face.
