Letterpress Student Work Holiday Cards 2019
By far this is one of my most popular letterpress workshops of the year. Students love coming in for a one day class and busting out a ton of Christmas cards to send out in a few weeks. This group was no exception. It was an incredibly chilly Saturday where we all sat inside the studio watching runners for the Ukrops 10K! While we not have been running outside, these women were MOTIVATED!
I had some students who wanted to just print simple generic cards – not specifically for the holiday which is fine! I love helping people print whatever the work is. I’ve used this feather before in some personal work and just love how it prints. The fine little hairlines in the feather come out beautifully. I also love the words this student chose to pair with the image.
Setting up type inside this wreath was a challenge for a first time student, but she worked through it to make a beautiful card.
I didn’t think this raven would make an appearance in my holiday card class but it just goes to show that I never know what I am going to see made in my classes.
Not to pick favorites, but I love this one! The modern type and the Santa and the COLOR! It matched my own Christmas cards pretty closely so I was a little biased when I helped mix the color up.
I enjoyed the modern sentiment here with the gothic type. Such a cool juxtaposition.
This was my last letterpress class of 2019! It’s hard to believe its all done for the year but I can’t wait to kick things off in January.
